Add the Panama foundation that owns your LLC
For those who already have assets to protect, a succession to prepare, or who want to lock the structure in from the start: your US LLC is owned 100 % by a Panamanian Private-Interest Foundation (Law 25 of 1995).
- Assets transferred to the foundation are legally immune from seizure 3 years after the transfer
- Bypasses the forced-heirship rules of your country of origin
- Beneficiaries recorded in a private by-laws document, never in a public register
- You stay Protector: absolute control, veto right, Council revocation at any time
- Option of a nominee Foundation Council (total anonymity, no relative exposed)
- Orphan structure (no owner, no shareholders): the foundation owns itself
The Panamanian execution is handled by our local partner, a law firm specialised in private-interest foundations. They stay behind the scenes: your single point of contact remains Expat Group.

How it works
- You book. Deposit paid online (Stripe), or free discovery call if you prefer to talk first. A welcome email arrives right away with the documents to prepare.
- Scoping call. We go through your situation (family, activity, calendar), we confirm your eligibility, we frame the documents to gather. You receive the Expat Group services contract.
- Pre-flight. Your documents translated and legalised in your country of origin. In parallel, we prepare your file on the Paraguay side (appointments, local lawyer, bank).
- On the ground. A single trip to Asunción: cédula, RUC, bank account, domicile contract, LLC (finalisation) and, if the foundation tier, kick-off of the Panama foundation (which takes 2 to 4 weeks to register, independently of your presence).
- Year 1. Your year 1 IRS filings are handled by us. You access your member area to follow the administrative life of the structure.
Frequently asked
Why a US LLC if I live in Paraguay?
Because your LLC bills your international clients from the United States (robust banking, stable currency, reputation), while your Paraguayan tax residency receives those revenues at 0 % tax on foreign-source income. That combo is the whole point of the setup.
How long on the ground?
One to two weeks is enough for the critical administrative work (cédula, RUC, banking, address). The rest can be handled remotely afterwards.
Why a Panamanian foundation, not a Paraguayan one?
Because the Panamanian Private-Interest Foundation (Law 25 of 1995) is the region's most solid asset-protection vehicle: internationally recognised, orphan (no owner), and its private by-laws are never public. Paraguay does not have an equally tested equivalent.
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes, until the Expat Group services contract is signed. After that signature, the deposit is earned (it funds the file's kickoff). The balance of the pack is paid on a schedule agreed on the scoping call.
Can I start with the base tier and add the foundation later?
Yes. The foundation can be added after the fact, once your LLC is created, by having the foundation buy it. Moving from base to foundation tier then costs the delta between the two tiers (foundation separately). It is cleaner to set it up from the start, though: the LLC is then born inside the foundation.
Is Paraguay really stable for this kind of setup?
Yes. Paraguay has a codified, respected tax-residency regime and a cooperative administration. Resolution 407 of 2026 tightened the conditions (end of the "zero RUC"), which actually makes clean files more solid in front of European banks and administrations. See our Paraguay residency 2026 guide (FR) for the detail.
Which language do you handle the setup in?
English, French or Spanish, whichever you prefer. Portuguese is planned. Louis lives in Latin America and works with clients across the Americas and Europe: serving each one in their own language is how the practice actually runs, from the discovery call to the written follow-up. Local partners in Paraguay operate in Spanish; you never have to.
